Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, everyone!  I hope 2021 finds everyone well so far.  Here we are on January 2nd and Lauren, the baby, and I find ourselves settling in nicely to the new year.  To be honest, we didn't make it past 10pm on New Year's Eve, but, that's what happens when the baby gets up at 4am for a few days in a row.

We're in the midst of our annual Breaking Bad binge-watch, and working through the DVR'd episodes from New Year's Eve marathons of "The Twilight Zone" and "The Honeymooner's."  Last night we popped in some old DVD's for a little nostalgia blast from when we were in high school or college, with some fun little movies like "Duece Bigalow," "Along Came Polly," and "Meet the Fockers."  These would never be called classic films, but they are certainly fun little films from a time when you could get away with stuff you certainly couldn't any longer.

I was trying to explain to our daughter why New Year's was important and the best thing I could come up with was "hope."  It's hope for a better year than the one before, hope for new beginnings, and hope for health and prosperity.  She's 10 months old so I'm sure she understood my every word!

I've got a lot of pieces I'm working on... irons in the fire, if you will.  Features like some good deep dives into some obscure character actors, a few new entrants into my "Restaurants of Yesteryear" series, and quite a few "Retro Scans."  In fact, a Retro Scan will be going live tomorrow afternoon, so be on the look out!

With that in mind, I'd like to wish each and every one of you, my dear readers, a healthy and happy New Year!
