That Trump Shuttle article last week created some interesting buzz for my little website, so that was cool! By now, I've covered quite a few airlines of the past, and as I've mentioned in every article, the industry's graveyard is quite full. There are many, many more airlines that I could... and want... to cover.
For those interested in the airline biz, the ones I plan on covering next (eventually) are AirTran and its days as ValuJet, American Trans Air and their beautiful Lockheed L-1011s, and Frontier Airlines. By Frontier, I don't necessarily mean the budget airline of today; I'm referring to the original Frontier that began life as "Monarch Air Lines" in 1946, lasting until 1986.
I'd also like to eventually cover Carnival Airlines (of cruise ship fame) and the original National Airlines, better known by its nickname, the "Sun King," that operated from 1934 to 1980.
Thanks for indulging my airline interests. I hope you enjoyed it (and maybe even learned something!)
Next month is February, and that means NASCAR is coming back. It's felt like a long offseason, as NASCAR is the one "sport" I make time for anymore. On February 2, the season will kick off with "The Clash," followed by "The Duel" on February 13. Both are considered "pre-season" exhibitions but certainly get the season rolling right into the famed Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 16th.
I'll dedicate February to motor racing here at YesterYear to build excitement for those events. The big article I'm excited about will explore the partnership between NASCAR and the iconic sponsorship of Tide laundry detergent. Over the years, my favorite drivers have all driven the Tide Ride, and I'm excited to learn the story of the orange rocket.
I'll also have some other fun stuff, so... ya'll come back now, ya hear?
